While the crypto ecosystem has matured, enabling seamless, regulatory-compliant payments for everyday goods remains a complex hurdle. RIVO was conceived to build a ground-up crypto-native payment network. The mission: allow users to pay directly in any asset while offering merchants instant settlement in their preferred currency.

"Fintuitive" (Financially Intuitive)

Financial products are often dense and intimidating. I established a design language rooted in Simplicity and "Stream-like" fluidity, aiming to make Web3 payments feel as familiar as tapping a credit card.

  • Motivation > Distraction: Acknowledging the friction of blockchain (e.g., block times, app switching) and countering it with high-touch, proactive status updates to reduce cognitive load.
  • End-to-End Holistic Context: Designing the entire service blueprint—from the physical QR code sticker on a merchant's counter to the digital receipt in the user's wallet.
  • Web3-2 Hybrid Visuals: A visual identity that bridges the gap, using familiar Web2 patterns to introduce powerful Web3 capabilities without overwhelming the user.

Execution Across the Ecosystem

I designed the customer experience as well as merchant end experience, with a public facing landing site for RIVO.network.

A. Consumer Wallet (RIVO App)

  • Awareness-First Onboarding: Created non-intrusive entry points within imToken that use intriguing micro-animations to invite exploration rather than forcing adoption.
  • "Action-Free" Payment Flow: Minimized inputs by leveraging system intelligence. Prioritized Gestures (Swipe-to-pay) over taps to prevent accidental transfers and create a satisfying tactile confirmation.
  • Proactive Assurance: Designed "interactive dialogs" that inform users of asynchronous blockchain statuses (e.g., "Confirming on-chain...") in real-time, preventing drop-off during wait times.

B. Merchant POS Experience

  • Streamlined Operations: Designed a high-contrast, large-type interface optimized for busy environments, allowing merchants to input amounts and generate QR codes in under 3 seconds.

C. Landing Site

  • Visual Narrative: Developed the "Stream" brand identity—vibrant, fluid, and transforming—representing the seamless flow of value.
  • Storytelling: The website moves beyond features to tell the story of "Unleashing the power of blockchain," using high-impact motion design (Dune/SpaceX inspiration) to visualize the transition from rigid fiat systems to a fluid tokenized world.
